What a nice of buildings

Yesterday, I was walking around Washington, and there are amazing place. Why I can say that, I have never seen American buildings. Those buildings are composed of white big stones, and named memorials.

Memorials are pretty impressive, aren't they? I believe the architecture of many of Washington, D.C.'s buildings are based on European architecture though.

Laura is right. Most of the memorials are designed like ancient Greek architecture. The Lincoln Memorial is similar to the Parthenon in Athens (but square). The Washington Monument looks like an Egyptian obelisk.

Hello, Yoshinori.

I'm glad you've enjoyed seeing the memorial buildings. They're very special. Most large U.S. cities don't have anything like them!

I hope you learn a lot during your stay in Maryland and I also hope you see many more interesting things!

Best wishes--

Dennis in Phoenix
